Program Description:
Moving Forward Tennis - all levels and ages*. Coach SJ (Sat Jiwan) is a gentle, attentive, and adaptive tennis teacher, meeting students where they are at. He brings a “Montessori” approach to coaching, challenging students to “move forward” and progress at their own rate; combining instruction for technique, fitness and the mental game… and FUN! At all levels, some specialized training equipment will be used: Visual targets, bigger/softer/slower balls and smaller nets/racquets, footwork ladder, ball machine, and 10-and-under/quick start tennis concepts. Coach SJ brings over a decade of competitive tennis playing along with several years of tennis and basketball coaching experience.
Wear comfortable clothes and athletic sneakers. Bring water, sun protection and layered clothing as needed. No tennis equipment required, but you can bring your own racquet. It is recommended to have an appropriately sized racquet and set of training balls to practice during the week. Instructor can help you choose, rent, purchase new or used equipment, often at a discount if a bulk order is coordinated. If there is bad weather, make up sessions can be added. If weather is good, additional weeks at end of session can be paid for on a drop in basis.
*Age and Level categories are not strict. Signing up for multiple classes is encouraged. Please contact SJ at 508.641.4706 or email with questions about class descriptions, class placement and equipment purchases.
